Fuel Pump Prices Increased for October, Confirms ERB

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has announced an upward adjustment in fuel pump prices for October 2025, citing higher international oil prices and the depreciation of the Kwacha against the US dollar.

Since the last review in August, the international market recorded price increases of 0.70 percent for diesel, 2.56 percent for petrol and 1.16 percent for kerosene and Jet A-1. The ERB said the combined effect of these increases and the weaker exchange rate influenced the decision to raise local pump prices.

Effective 1 October 2025, the new uniform national pump prices per litre will be:

  • Diesel: K26.20 (up from K25.02)
  • Petrol: K30.58 (up from K29.18)
  • Kerosene: K24.78 (up from K23.64)
  • Jet A-1: K27.11 (up from K25.83)

The adjustments represent increases of between 4.72 and 4.96 percent across the different fuel products.

Posted Airfield Prices (PAP) at international airports have also been revised, with Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) in Lusaka, Mfuwe, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone and Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola reflecting the new Jet A-1 price of K27.11 per litre, with slight variations.

“These prices shall come into effect on 1 October 2025 and will remain in effect until revised by the ERB,” Board Chairperson James Banda said in a statement.

The ERB further noted that detailed wholesale and pump price build-ups for October are available on its official website.
