Zambia’s New Ambassador to Israel Presents Credentials to President Herzog
Zambia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel, Mr Wesley Mahuba Hazemba, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Mr Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, during a ceremony held in Jerusalem on Tuesday, 16 September 2025.
President Herzog welcomed Ambassador Hazemba and praised the strong and friendly relations that exist between Zambia and Israel. He commended Zambia’s ambitious transformation agenda, particularly its efforts to establish itself as a regional food hub, and reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to supporting Zambia’s development initiatives.
The Israeli President expressed his Government’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Zambia in areas of mutual benefit, noting that stronger bilateral ties would help advance prosperity for both nations.
Ambassador Hazemba, in turn, conveyed warm greetings from Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema to President Herzog and the people of Israel. He reaffirmed Zambia’s determination to strengthen collaboration in strategic sectors, including health, agriculture, and energy, highlighting the shared vision for sustainable development and enhanced partnerships.
The presentation of credentials marks a significant step in consolidating Zambia–Israel relations, paving the way for expanded engagement between the two countries.
