South African High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call on Tourism Minister
The High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to Zambia, His Excellency Mr Sa’ad Cachalia, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism, Honourable Rodney M. Sikumba.
The meeting centred on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, with particular focus on cultural exchange, regional tourism packages and sustainable tourism development.
Hon Sikumba highlighted Zambia’s extensive tourism potential and stressed the importance of enhanced bilateral ties in promoting destination marketing and joint initiatives to increase tourist arrivals for both countries.
Mr Cachalia reaffirmed South Africa’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with Zambia in driving tourism growth across Southern Africa. He also underscored the importance of forging partnerships to position Africa as a premier global tourism destination.
The courtesy call is seen as a reflection of the warm and cordial relations that continue to exist between Zambia and South Africa, grounded in shared values, cultural heritage and regional integration.
