ZDA Secures US$30.1M in Deals Following Angola Trade Mission

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has announced that business deals totalling US$30.1 million were secured by 20 Zambian companies during a recent Trade Mission to Angola. The mission took place from 24th to 26th July 2025 in Luanda, coinciding with the 40th edition of the Luanda International Trade Fair (FILDA).

ZDA Head of Communications and Public Relations, Kwali Mfuni, revealed that the participating companies represented a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, agro-processing, agriculture, mining, and construction.

“The key areas of interest for the business transactions included the supply of cooking oil, cereals, honey, groundnuts, agricultural fertiliser, engineering equipment, as well as mining consultancy services to Angola,” Ms Mfuni explained. She added that the Trade Mission also generated leads for partnerships between Zambian and Angolan firms, aimed at deeper market penetration.

The primary objectives of the Trade Mission were to forge new private sector business linkages between Zambia and Angola, identify and explore trade opportunities, promote Zambian products in Angola, and facilitate direct engagement between businesses from both countries.

Furthermore, the mission sought to facilitate pre-arranged B2B meetings to encourage partnerships, trade, and investment, while strengthening economic relations through existing bilateral trade agreements and infrastructure projects such as the Lobito Corridor.

Aligned strategically with FILDA 2025, the Trade Mission provided a vital platform for Zambian companies to expand their regional partnerships and unlock export potential not only within Angola but across the broader region.

The initiative was facilitated by ZDA with support from the Lobito Corridor Trade Facilitation Project and the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. On the Angolan side, the Agency for Private Investment and Promotion of Exports of Angola (AIPEX) lent its support to the mission.

Ms Mfuni expressed optimism that the outcomes of the Trade Mission would boost bilateral trade and foster long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
