Tourism Shows Strong, Remarkable Growth Signs
Zambia’s tourism sector has delivered a remarkable half-year performance in 2025, recording slightly over 1.2 million international arrivals surpassing the mid-year target of 1.1 million visitors as earmarked on target fronts.
This strong growth positions the country to exceed its revised goal of 3 million arrivals by year-end, well above the original 2.4 million target.
Tourism has emerged as a critical driver of economic resilience, helping sustain GDP growth in the face of agricultural and mining sector challenges.
However, it is also important to note that strategic marketing campaigns, improved infrastructure and visa facilitation have since played a key role in attracting more visitors to the country’s natural wonders, cultural heritage and vibrant events which includes international meetings (MICE).
The impressive mid-year results signal a record-breaking year ahead, reinforcing tourism as a cornerstone of Zambia’s economic diversification agenda which compliments to the overall good national economic impact.
