EAZ Strengthens Ties with Trade Kings Group Ahead of 2025 National Economic Summit

The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) has initiated a strategic engagement with the Trade Kings Group of Companies as part of its preparations for the upcoming National Economic Summit scheduled for 11th to 12th September 2025 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Livingstone.

The meeting, held earlier today, was led by EAZ President Dr. Oswald Mungule, Vice President Mr. Mbanji Milambo, and members of the EAZ Secretariat. Trade Kings was represented by its Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Phil Daka.

Dr. Mungule acknowledged the central role Trade Kings plays in Zambia’s industrial and economic landscape. He described the company as a strategic partner in national development, citing its commitment to manufacturing, value addition, and local empowerment.

He further highlighted the need to integrate SMEs into corporate value chains and emphasized that the summit aims to foster inclusive economic growth through cross-sector partnerships.

Mr. Milambo noted that partnering with a local industry leader like Trade Kings complements the summit’s goal of celebrating Zambian enterprise and resilience. He stated that the summit would provide a platform for discussing sustainable development, innovation, and private sector advancement, creating synergies between established corporations and emerging entrepreneurs.

Responding to the engagement, Mr. Daka expressed Trade Kings’ willingness to support and participate in the summit. He stressed the importance of dialogue between industry, government, and stakeholders to tackle issues affecting the business environment.

Mr. Daka also pointed to ongoing challenges in the manufacturing sector, such as rising production costs, disrupted supply chains, and inconsistent policy implementation.

Highlighting Trade Kings’ economic impact, Mr. Daka noted that the company employs over 16,000 people and remains committed to job creation and investment. He confirmed that the group looks forward to formalizing a partnership with EAZ through a Memorandum of Understanding that will facilitate collaboration in policy research, industrial innovation, and joint initiatives.

EAZ reiterated its commitment to partnering with key stakeholders to ensure the 2025 National Economic Summit becomes a catalyst for actionable solutions, investment opportunities, and Zambia’s long-term economic growth.
