Wrapped App Revolutionizes Diversity in Film and TV With MultiChoice Innovation Backing

A dynamic new player in Africa’s tech and media space is making international waves—Wrapped, a technology solutions app tailored for the film, television, and commercial production industries, is rapidly reshaping how talent is trained, hired, and empowered across the creative ecosystem.

Unlike any other platform, Wrapped serves as a multi-functional hub where companies and individuals can connect, recruit, and upskill—while placing diversity and inclusion at the core of its mission.

Founded by film industry advocate and producer Zoe Ramushu and business strategist Herbert Ramushu, Wrapped was created out of necessity and experience. “What makes Wrapped unique is that it’s built from lived experience,” Zoe explains. “I’ve been both the underrepresented talent and the producer struggling to find diverse, qualified crew under pressure.”

Their combined backgrounds—Zoe’s decade-long advocacy and creative expertise and Herbert’s financial acumen—gave birth to an innovative solution supported by the MultiChoice Innovation Fund (MIF).

Zoe credits the Fund’s involvement as transformative: “MultiChoice was the first major player to say, ‘we believe in this.’ Their support gave us more than money—they gave us momentum.”

Since its founding, Wrapped has gained global recognition, including being selected as one of the Top 10 Startups at the 2024 Berlinale European Film Market and earning two nominations at the 2025 Global Production Awards in Cannes, alongside Hollywood blockbusters like Wicked and the acclaimed series Bridgerton.

Wrapped’s success is part of a broader impact story driven by the MIF, which has empowered 79 Black-owned businesses, creating over 1,000 jobs since inception. The Fund continues to be a powerful force in nurturing entrepreneurship and fostering transformation within South Africa’s creative economy.
