Hon. Nkandu Champions Regional Unity at Namibia’s Inclusion and Sustainability Forum
Zambia has reaffirmed its dedication to inclusive development and regional cooperation through the active participation of Honourable Elvis Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, at the inaugural Inter-Ministerial Forum on Inclusion and Sustainability in Windhoek, Namibia.
Representing the African Union Sports Council Region 5, Hon. Nkandu joined ministers and senior officials from across Southern Africa in a landmark gathering that brought together the Education, Health, and Sport sectors.
The forum was convened under the theme of strengthening multisectoral partnerships to achieve inclusive growth and environmental sustainability.
The high-level forum was held alongside the Region 5 Youth Games and officially opened by Namibian Prime Minister Dr. Elijah T. Ngurare, who delivered a keynote address on behalf of President Nangolo Mbumba.
He called for urgent and coordinated policy action across governments in the region to tackle shared development challenges.
Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of the Region 5 Council, Hon. Nkandu praised Namibia for its hospitality and visionary leadership. He described the forum as “a launchpad for practical, measurable change” and applauded the collaborative spirit that guided the discussions.
Hon. Nkandu also underscored the significance of the forum’s alignment with major regional milestones, including Namibia’s upcoming National Development Plan 6 (NDP6) and joint initiatives focused on green technologies, climate-smart agriculture, disability inclusion, and a region-wide campaign to plant 2.5 million trees.
