Minister of Tourism Arrives in Osaka, Japan for the Osaka World Expo 2025
The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Mr. Rodney Sikumba, has arrived in Osaka, Japan, alongside Minister of Mines Honourable Paul Kabuswe and senior government officials to participate in the prestigious Osaka World Expo 2025.
The Expo, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” focuses on three key sub-themes: Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives. Zambia has prepared a compelling exhibition featuring materials and artifacts that align with these themes to tell the nation’s story.
Minister Sikumba is representing His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema at this landmark event, which brings together countries worldwide to showcase innovation, culture, trade, and investment opportunities.
Zambia’s participation highlights its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, attracting foreign investment, and promoting tourism, heritage, and cultural exchange. The Zambian Pavilion will showcase the country’s rich tourism potential, investment prospects across various sectors, and cultural heritage.
Upon arrival, Minister Sikumba emphasized the significance of Zambia’s presence at the Expo, saying: “This is more than just a global exhibition — it is an opportunity for Zambia to position itself as a competitive destination for investment, tourism, and sustainable partnerships. Representing His Excellency President Hichilema, I am proud to lead this delegation and reaffirm our government’s dedication to global collaboration and economic diplomacy.”
During the Expo, the delegation will hold high-level meetings with Japanese stakeholders to enhance cooperation in tourism, green energy, technology, and infrastructure development.
Minister Sikumba, on behalf of President Hichilema, underscored that Zambia’s involvement in the Osaka World Expo is a strategic step toward promoting the country globally and forging partnerships that will drive economic growth and job creation back home.
