PPDF and SMART Zambia Launch Nationwide Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign

The Public Private Dialogue Forum (PPDF), in partnership with the SMART Zambia Institute, has announced the launch of a nationwide Cyber Security and Crimes Awareness Campaign for 2025–2026. The initiative aims to raise public understanding of cyber risks and promote safe digital practices across Zambia.

With the country advancing rapidly toward a digital economy, the campaign is seen as a timely response to the growing threats facing individuals, businesses, and institutions online. The campaign will focus on equipping Zambians with the knowledge and tools to navigate digital spaces safely and confidently.

“This campaign is a proactive step toward creating a digitally secure environment through education, information, awareness, and collaboration,” the partners stated in a joint release issued on Friday.

SMART Zambia Institute, the lead agency for Zambia’s digital transformation agenda, emphasized the importance of working closely with the private sector to increase the campaign’s impact. The initiative will engage a broad range of stakeholders including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), schools, civil society groups, and local communities across the country.

Through a series of community outreach programs, digital safety workshops, media engagements, and localized educational content, the campaign seeks to reach citizens in the seven most widely spoken Zambian languages.

PPDF Director of Strategic Communication and Partnerships, Jacqueline Chishimba, highlighted the campaign as a critical opportunity for inclusive public-private collaboration.

“We believe that collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential in building a resilient digital ecosystem,” she said. “This campaign provides a platform for sharing knowledge, promoting digital safety, and ensuring that every Zambian is equipped to navigate the digital space securely.”
