Zambia Strengthens Healthcare Access Through Strategic Egyptian Partnerships
The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) is advancing its mission to ensure affordable and quality healthcare by deepening strategic ties with Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector.
During a courtesy visit to the Zambian Embassy in Cairo, ZAMMSA Interim Director General Dr. John Kachimba highlighted the potential of partnering with Egypt’s Unified Procurement Authority (UPA), which has a strong track record in bulk procurement of essential medicines and supplies.
“Through deepening our engagement with Egyptian suppliers and the UPA, we are unlocking pathways to sustainable, cost-effective healthcare solutions that will ultimately improve service delivery in Zambia,” said Dr. Kachimba.
Zambia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Major General Topply Lubaya, praised the initiative, urging the Zambian delegation to fully tap into Egypt’s robust pharmaceutical capabilities.
The Zambian delegation—comprising officials from ZAMMSA, the Ministry of Health, and the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA)—is attending the Africa Health Exhibition and Conference (Africa Health ExCon), a major platform for healthcare innovation and cross-border collaboration.
ZAMMSA reaffirmed its commitment to forging partnerships that expand access to affordable, high-quality medicines and medical supplies for the Zambian population.
