Zambia Targets Luanda Market in Strategic Trade Mission to Boost Exports and Regional Ties

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry under the Lobito Corridor Project, has announced a high-level Trade Mission and Solo Exhibition to be held in Luanda, Angola from July 24 to 26, 2025.

The initiative seeks to deepen trade ties between Zambia and Angola by leveraging existing bilateral trade agreements and key infrastructure developments, including the Lobito Corridor—a vital transport route enhancing regional connectivity.

According to ZDA, trade between the two nations has been steadily increasing, with Zambian exports to Angola recently hitting $8.46 million. The Agency believes this figure is set to grow further as platforms like the Luanda Trade Mission unlock more opportunities for Zambian businesses.

The mission will showcase a Solo Exhibition featuring Zambian companies and host pre-arranged Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings with Angolan importers, distributors, and potential partners. Participating companies will receive exhibition space, interpreter support, and logistical facilitation, including freight forwarding of up to 20 kilograms of product samples.

“This initiative is a strategic opportunity for Zambian enterprises to access and expand into the Angolan market,” said Ms. Kwali Mfuni, Head of Communications and Public Relations at ZDA, in an official statement.

Interested companies across all sectors are encouraged to confirm participation by June 30, 2025. Although participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation, ZDA will provide logistical and coordination support.

The Agency is targeting 50 export-ready Zambian companies for this mission, which is anticipated to pave the way for lasting business partnerships between the two countries’ private sectors.
