Proflight Positions Zambia as a Regional Hub for MICE and Business Events

Proflight Zambia is taking strategic steps to position itself as a key enabler of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) travel, reinforcing its role in driving business tourism and regional connectivity.

As the global business travel sector grows in economic importance, the country’s leading scheduled airline is aligning with corporate bodies, professional associations, and tourism agents to offer flexible and cost-effective travel solutions.

These include discounted fares, group travel packages, and adaptable booking options tailored for MICE delegates flying within Zambia and to regional destinations like Johannesburg and Cape Town.

“Our MICE travel solutions are part of our broader mission to connect people, dreams, ideas, and industries across Zambia and beyond,” said Proflight Zambia’s Director of Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita. “We view business travel as a critical enabler of industry growth and national development.”

MICE travel, or business tourism, covers a wide spectrum—from corporate networking and strategy sessions to large-scale exhibitions and AGMs. These activities contribute significantly to local economies through hospitality, transport, and related services.

Proflight Zambia has already supported numerous high-profile events and stakeholders, including the Mosi Day of Thunder festival, Africa’s Eden Travel Show, and professional bodies such as the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Engineering Institute of Zambia.

To further streamline support, the airline has introduced an annual MICE calendar and an internal MICE Tracker. These tools help identify key events nationwide and align with the Zambia Tourism Agency’s national MICE destination calendar for effective flight scheduling, sponsorship, and travel discounts.

With its expansive domestic network—servicing cities such as Ndola, Livingstone, Kasama, Mfuwe, Mansa, and Solwezi—Proflight Zambia is enhancing access to even the most remote business locations. The airline also plans to begin scheduled flights to Mongu later in 2025, further broadening its reach.

“Business tourism is central to Zambia’s vision of becoming a regional hub for investment and knowledge exchange,” Capt. Walubita added. “Proflight Zambia is proud to be at the heart of that transformation—flying Zambia’s business growth, one event at a time.”
