Transform Africa Summit 2025 Returns to Kigali with Focus on AI and Emerging Technologies

The Transform Africa Summit is set to return to its birthplace, Kigali, Rwanda, from July 22 to 24, 2025, under the theme “AI for Africa: Innovate Locally, Impact Globally.” Organized by Smart Africa, this year’s edition places artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies at the forefront of Africa’s digital transformation agenda.

After a successful 2023 gathering in Zimbabwe—attended by five Heads of State, including a monarch, 44 ministers, and thousands of delegates—the summit makes a long-awaited return to Kigali for the first time since 2019.

“As Africa embraces AI and digital innovation to drive economic growth and uplift communities, this Summit provides a vital platform to create actionable strategies for a smarter, more connected Africa,” said Lacina Koné, CEO of Smart Africa.

Echoing this vision, Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Hon. Paula Ingabire, stated, “Rwanda is honoured to welcome back the Transform Africa Summit. AI and emerging technologies are key to unlocking inclusive, homegrown solutions for Africa’s future.”

The 2025 summit promises dynamic panel sessions, skill-building workshops, and tech exhibitions by leading global firms, showcasing innovations powering digital transformation across sectors.

Smart Africa urges global and continental stakeholders—governments, businesses, and innovators—to participate in this landmark event and help shape Africa’s digital destiny. Registration details will soon be available via the official Transform Africa Summit website.

Launched in 2013 in Kigali, the Transform Africa Summit is the continent’s premier digital forum, aimed at fostering collaboration between public and private sector leaders to build Africa into a knowledge-driven, smart economy.
