FNB Zambia Foundation Donates to Boost Early Childhood Development in Mongu

The FNB Zambia Foundation has reaffirmed its dedication to Early Childhood Development (ECD) with a timely donation of essential learning and developmental materials to three early childhood centers in Mongu, Western Province.

This initiative, carried out ahead of the prestigious Kuomboka Ceremony, underscores the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to empowering future generations through strategic corporate social investment (CSI).

The beneficiaries received a range of resources, including educational materials, play equipment, school shoes, and child-friendly furniture such as age-appropriate tables and chairs. Two of the donations were made in partnership with Zambeef’s “Walk a Mile in My Shoe” campaign, while the third was channeled through the Kuomboka organizing committee, symbolizing the unity of tradition and progress.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Clotilda Mulenga, one of the Trustees of the FNB Zambia Foundation, emphasized the profound impact of ECD on a child’s long-term success.

“At FNB Zambia Foundation, we believe that investing in early childhood development is one of the most impactful ways to drive long-term positive change in our communities,” Mulenga said. “By providing the necessary resources and support to early childhood centers, we are empowering young learners and laying the foundation for a brighter future.”

This donation comes at a symbolic time as the region prepares for the Kuomboka Ceremony, reflecting the Foundation’s dedication to cultural relevance and community upliftment. The intervention aligns with the Foundation’s broader mission to support vulnerable communities by creating sustainable and inclusive learning environments.

The FNB Zambia Foundation has consistently prioritized ECD as a cornerstone of its CSI strategy, recognizing early education as a critical factor in cognitive and social development, and a powerful tool in breaking the cycle of poverty.
