President Hichilema Calls for Innovative Solutions at Least Developed Countries Future Forum
President Hakainde Hichilema has urged Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to embrace innovation and locally driven solutions to strengthen resilience against systemic shocks.
Speaking at the Third Least Developed Countries Future Forum held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka, President Hichilema addressed over 250 delegates from 53 countries, emphasizing the need for self-reliance in tackling challenges such as climate change and shifting global geopolitics.
“The time has come for us to rethink our approaches by developing locally tailored solutions and fostering innovation across various sectors,” President Hichilema said. “We must take ownership of our development and move away from the notion that others will solve our problems.”
The forum, held under the theme ‘Enhancing Resilience: Innovative Solutions for Strengthening Least Developed Countries’ Resilience Against Systematic Shocks,’ focused on strategies to mitigate the impacts of unpredictable weather patterns, economic instability, and other emerging challenges.
President Hichilema expressed gratitude to the event organizers and extended an invitation to delegates to explore Zambia’s renowned hospitality and iconic tourist attractions.
