Ministry of Tourism Honors Travel Agents for Promoting Zambia as a Premier Destination
The Ministry of Tourism has successfully hosted the Travel Agency Appreciation Awards, recognizing the vital role travel agents play in marketing Zambia as a top global destination.
The prestigious event took place on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Urban Hotel, bringing together travel industry leaders, stakeholders, and esteemed travel professionals.
During his keynote address, Permanent Secretary Mr. Evans Muhanga expressed the government’s deep appreciation for travel agents’ dedication to showcasing Zambia’s diverse tourism offerings. He highlighted their resilience and commitment to driving growth in the sector, which remains a key pillar of the nation’s economic development.
“The contributions of travel agents in promoting Zambia’s breathtaking landscapes, cultural heritage, and wildlife experiences are invaluable. Their efforts continue to place our country on the global tourism map, attracting visitors from all over the world,” Mr. Muhanga stated.
He further emphasized the government’s ongoing initiatives to enhance air connectivity, improve infrastructure, and promote sustainable tourism.
Mr. Muhanga acknowledged South African Airways for its enduring partnership with the travel trade community, which has facilitated seamless travel experiences for both leisure and business travelers.
He noted that the airline’s extensive network continues to boost regional tourism, cultural exchanges, and business opportunities.
