Zambia Signs MoU with SAIPAR to Strengthen Foreign Policy Framework
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research (SAIPAR) to enhance Zambia’s foreign policy framework and international diplomacy.
The agreement aims to strengthen institutional capacity, promote evidence-based policymaking, and improve stakeholder engagement, aligning with Zambia’s economic transformation agenda through economic diplomacy.
Speaking at the signing ceremony at Charter House in Lusaka, Permanent Secretary Ms. Etambuyu Anamela Gundersen emphasized that the MoU aligns with President Hakainde Hichilema’s directive to leverage private capital for economic growth.
She highlighted that Zambia would benefit from SAIPAR’s research expertise while strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations.
SAIPAR Executive Director, Professor Manenga Ndulo, reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to working with the government, noting that the partnership would bolster Zambia’s ability to make informed policy decisions and enhance international cooperation.
The MoU will also support capacity building and training programs for Ministry personnel, diplomats, and staff at the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy Studies (ZIDIS).
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering partnerships that advance Zambia’s economic agenda and strengthen its diplomatic standing on the global stage.
