President Hichilema Attends Historic Inauguration of Namibia’s First Female President
Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema joined fellow Heads of State and government in witnessing the historic inauguration of Namibia’s fifth President and first female Head of State, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, at State House in Windhoek.
President Hichilema congratulated President Nandi-Ndaitwah on her election victory and commended the Namibian people for conducting peaceful elections.
He also extended appreciation to former President Dr. Nangolo Mbumba for ensuring a smooth transition following the recent loss of a sitting President and Namibia’s founding leader.
“Namibia’s 35th Independence Anniversary is a remarkable milestone that showcases the country’s progress and resilience. Zambia and Namibia share a deep-rooted friendship, forged through our support for Namibia’s liberation struggle,” President Hichilema stated.
Following the ceremony, the Zambian delegation departed Windhoek for Lusaka, reaffirming the strong bilateral ties between the two neighboring nations.
