Proflight Elevates Staff Development as Key to Success
Proflight Zambia is prioritizing staff development as a cornerstone of its growth strategy. As the regional aviation sector expands with increasing air traffic, the airline is equipping its team with cutting-edge skills to navigate emerging opportunities.
Recently, eleven Proflight employees underwent an intensive three-day Commercial Aviation Management programme at Cranfield Aviation Training Centre in South Africa. The training covered network and fleet planning, customer service optimization, and commercial management, preparing the staff to meet industry challenges head-on.
For seasoned employees like Edina Phiri, Station Manager at Mfuwe International Airport, the training was transformative. “The aviation industry is a people business, and customer service is vital. I learned new ways to handle customers during operations,” she shared.
Vernon Malunga, Crew Scheduling Manager at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, highlighted the value of refreshing his expertise in fleet planning. “The training emphasized compliance with industry regulations and efficient crew scheduling for our CRJ fleet,” he noted.
Similarly, Constance Musonda, Station Manager at Kasama Airport, praised the focus on strategic decision-making and leadership. “Understanding customer needs, especially in remote areas, is critical for growth,” she stated.
Proflight’s Director of Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita, emphasized the importance of skilled personnel. “Safety and excellent service start with knowledgeable staff. This training prepares our people for greater responsibilities, helping Proflight soar to new heights,” he said.
From its beginnings as a small charter company to becoming a regional airline with over 250 employees, Proflight’s success is rooted in empowering its workforce.
