Record Numbers of Emirates Customers Expected to Travel This Festive Season

Emirates is set to welcome record-breaking numbers of passengers this December, solidifying its reputation for providing exceptional travel experiences. Departures from Dubai International Airport are forecast to surpass last year’s numbers significantly, with peak travel days seeing as many as 89,000 passengers, a nearly 20% increase compared to 2023. 

To ensure a seamless journey, Emirates advises passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight and take note of their boarding times. With travel surging during the busiest periods, including 12-15 December, 20-22 December, and 27-29 December, proactive planning is essential. 

Emirates City Check-In & Travel Store: Located in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), this facility allows passengers to check in, drop off luggage, and enjoy a modern, glamorous environment. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, it features self-check-in kiosks, dedicated agent desks, and “Sara,” the world’s first robotic check-in agent.

Home Check-In Services: For passengers departing from Dubai and Sharjah, DUBZ agents can complete the check-in process from the comfort of their homes, hotels, or offices. Bags are taken directly to the flight, allowing passengers to arrive at the airport with ease. This service is complimentary for First Class and Skywards Platinum members.

Early Luggage Drop-Off: Passengers can drop off their luggage at Dubai International Airport up to 24 hours before their flight or 12 hours before flights to the US, ensuring a stress-free departure experience.

City Check-In in Ajman: Passengers starting their journey in Ajman can check in at the Ajman Central Bus Terminal, drop off luggage, and collect boarding passes up to four hours before their flight. 

Emirates passengers are encouraged to download the Emirates App for a comprehensive travel experience. The app allows users to check flight details, change bookings, download digital boarding passes, pre-order meals in Business Class, and plan in-flight entertainment. Online check-in is also available on Emirates.com, starting 48 hours before departure. 

Emirates provides an array of premium services at DXB, including revamped First and Business Class check-in areas for a serene and expedited process. Families can benefit from priority boarding, complimentary baby strollers, and a comfortable pre-boarding experience for young travelers. 

Emirates reminds passengers to adhere to baggage rules, especially concerning restricted items such as power banks and e-cigarettes, which are allowed only in carry-on luggage. Smart bags are permitted in the cabin if the battery is removable, powered off, and within cabin size and weight limits. 

To save time, passengers can pre-order duty-free products on EmiratesRED.com up to 40 hours before their flight. Orders are delivered directly to their seats, offering convenience and access to exclusive items.
