Zambia’s High Commissioner Presents Credentials to Kenyan President

Zambia’s High Commissioner-designate to Kenya, Mr. Alfred Musemuna, officially commenced his tenure today by presenting his credentials to His Excellency Mr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, at a ceremony held in Nairobi.

This significant diplomatic milestone emphasized Zambia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Kenya, focusing on enhancing trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.

High Commissioner Musemuna’s tenure comes at a time of deepened cooperation between Zambia and Kenya, which share a history of warm and cordial relations. Collaborative efforts between the two nations extend to trade, security, agriculture, tourism, and education.

They are also active partners in regional frameworks, such as the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community.

Recent initiatives include a Memorandum of Understanding in science, technology, and innovation, aimed at advancing peace and stability across the region.

High-level visits, including President Hakainde Hichilema’s visit to Kenya in 2022 and former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to Zambia in 2015, have further reinforced these ties.

As Zambia’s representative, Mr. Musemuna aims to amplify collaboration in key sectors for mutual growth, paving the way for a stronger partnership between the two countries.
