Zambian Officer Cadets Commissioned at Tanzania Military Academy 

Two Zambian Officer Cadets proudly joined over 200 peers in being commissioned as Second Lieutenants on November 28, 2024, at a vibrant ceremony held at the Tanzania Military Academy (TMA) in Arusha. 

The event was graced by Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

Among the newly commissioned were 22 Allied Officer Cadets from seven nations across the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), including the two Zambians. 

Zambia Army’s Adjutant General, Brigadier General Biard Kashumba, represented Commander Zambia Army Lt Gen Geoffrey Choongo Zyeele and received the Zambian graduates on behalf of the nation.

Lt Gen Zyeele extended gratitude to the Tanzanian Government and its Defence Force for providing the cadets with this invaluable training opportunity. Congratulating the Officers, he highlighted their responsibility to safeguard their homeland with courage, integrity, and loyalty.

The Zambia Military Academy (ZMA) is also currently training Officer Cadets, including two from Tanzania, underlining the importance of military exchange programmes. These initiatives enhance international cooperation, cross-cultural understanding, and security collaboration, fostering a capable military ready for global challenges.

The newly commissioned Zambian Officers expressed eagerness to serve their country and embody the high standards instilled during their rigorous training, setting a path of excellence in their military careers.
