Zambia Records $12.22 Million in Business Deals from Congo Trade Mission
The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has reported impressive outcomes from its recent trade mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), generating business volumes of US$12.22 million.
The deals include spot sales worth US$23.36 thousand, confirmed orders of US$998.3 thousand, and trade leads valued at US$11.20 million.
Over 40 Zambian companies showcased a range of products, including cooking oil, tea, cleaning chemicals, and engineering equipment, during the event held from October 16th to 18th at Lubumbashi’s Hypnos Mall.
Orders were also secured for personal protective equipment, agricultural products, and mining consultancy services.
The ZDA’s Director General, Albert Halwampa, highlighted the significance of the DRC, particularly Haut-Katanga Province, as a strategic market for Zambian exports.
“The DRC remains a profitable market for a wide range of Zambian goods, from supermarket products to mining supplies,” Halwampa remarked, urging businesses to fulfil orders and actively pursue trade leads to cement long-term partnerships.
