President Hichilema Leads Zambia in Honoring Fallen Heroes on Remembrance Day 

On Remembrance Day, President Hakainde Hichilema delivered a solemn address honoring Zambia’s fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for freedom, peace, and justice. 

Commemorating the courageous men and women who served during the two World Wars and Zambia’s independence struggle, the President spoke to citizens across the nation, encouraging reflection on the values these heroes defended.

“Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice,” President Hichilema said, highlighting the enduring legacy of those who stood against tyranny to protect Zambia’s cherished ideals. 

The President emphasized that the courage of these heroes is foundational to Zambia’s unity, resilience, and dedication to justice and equality.

He also extended respect and gratitude to Zambia’s veterans, recognizing their honorable service and contribution to nation-building.

Reflecting on current global peace efforts, President Hichilema paid tribute to Zambian peacekeepers serving in missions worldwide, commending their bravery and resilience in fostering international harmony. 

“May Almighty God place a hedge of protection around them as they bring peace and hope to humanity,” he said.

This Remembrance Day ceremony serves as a reminder of Zambia’s commitment to upholding peace, human dignity, and justice, with President Hichilema encouraging all Zambians to carry forward the values of the past to shape a brighter future. 

The event concluded with a nationwide moment of silence, honoring the memory and sacrifices of Zambia’s heroes, both past and present.
