FAZ Chief Mourns Former Green Eagles Chairman Kafumukache
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Brigadier General Jim Koshita Kafumukache, former chairman of Green Eagles Football Club.
General Kafumukache passed away on Thursday at Maina Soko Medical Centre in Lusaka.
FAZ president Andrew Kamanga hailed General Kafumukache’s impact on Zambian football, noting his dedication and contributions to the sport.
“On behalf of the FAZ executive committee, the football family, and myself, I convey our heartfelt condolences to Green Eagles Football Club, the ZNS command, and the family of Brigadier General Kafumukache,” Kamanga stated. “He was one of football’s loyalest servants.”
Kamanga highlighted General Kafumukache’s role in Green Eagles’ successful CAF campaigns, particularly their memorable 2019/2020 victory over South African club Orlando Pirates.
During his tenure from 2018 to 2021, Kafumukache led the team in both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, elevating the club’s profile.
While grieving his passing, Kamanga noted that Kafumukache’s legacy remains, as his contributions helped bring CAF competitions to Southern Province. FAZ and the wider football community mourn the loss of a respected leader and passionate advocate for Zambian football.
