KCM Spreads Love and Care with Donation to One Way Mission Children’s Home
Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) brought smiles to One Way Mission Children’s Home as the mining giant’s Chief Operating Officer, Malcolm Mewett, and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Brian Siatubi, delivered assorted donations valued at K118,000.
The donations, which included essential food items, groceries, mattresses, blankets, clothing, and cash, aim to revitalize the children’s home’s once-thriving poultry business.
This initiative will help provide a sustainable income for the home and offer valuable life skills training in chicken farming, contributing to food security and supporting the education of the children.
“We want every child to feel loved and safe. Our commitment is to support the most vulnerable in our communities,” said Mewett, highlighting KCM’s dedication to uplifting underprivileged children.
Director of One Way Mission Children’s Home, Loveness Sakala, expressed gratitude, noting that the items will significantly impact the children’s lives.
The home, which cares for 45 orphans and vulnerable children with the support of three caretakers, focuses on empowerment through education and life skills training.
