ZRA Urges Taxpayers to Clear Arrears by December 31 Deadline
The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is calling on taxpayers to settle all outstanding tax arrears by December 31, 2024, to avoid penalties and interest on unpaid amounts.
Taxpayers facing financial constraints can take advantage of a “Time to Pay Agreement” (TPA) allowing for arrears to be paid in monthly installments, as highlighted by ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala.
Nzala further reminded businesses that tax compliance is mandatory for obtaining trading licenses from Local Councils for 2025.
“As the financial year ends, taxpayers must submit returns and settle any outstanding taxes to prevent penalties. To avoid the year-end rush, we urge taxpayers to act now,” Nzala advised.
ZRA has assured taxpayers of sufficient support through service centres and contact points to facilitate compliance.
The Authority expressed gratitude to taxpayers, acknowledging their essential role in driving national development.
