Namibia to Host 7th International Energy Conference in April 2025

The 7th edition of the Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) is set to take place from April 23 to 25, 2025, in Windhoek, bringing together global and local energy leaders, investors, service companies, and financial institutions.

This year’s theme, “Leading The Way: Becoming An Energy Hub with In-Country Value,” reflects Namibia’s commitment to strategic collaboration and value creation in its energy sector.

Selma Shimutwikeni, Chief Executive of RichAfrica Consultancy and the convenor of NIEC 2025, emphasized the importance of transitioning from vision to action.

“Namibia is on the path to becoming a leading energy hub through strategic collaboration, in-country value creation, and meaningful partnerships. This conference is a catalyst for action, turning conversations into real outcomes that drive investment, advance exploration, and strengthen connections,” she stated.

The African Energy Chamber highlighted that the conference will feature an interactive exhibition, allowing companies to showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions shaping Namibia’s energy future.

The 2025 theme underscores the country’s emergence as a regional energy hub, focusing on leveraging its abundant oil, gas, and renewable resources to attract global investment.

As Namibia continues on this path, the conference will address the importance of ensuring that local industries and communities benefit from the development of its world-class Orange Basin hydrocarbon discoveries.

Discussions will explore dynamic opportunities for partnership and investment aimed at expanding infrastructure, building local capacity, improving access to finance, and enhancing regulatory frameworks.

Delegates at NIEC 2025 can expect insightful conversations surrounding Namibia’s latest offshore discoveries, upcoming exploration campaigns, energy security, power industry growth, infrastructure development, renewable project rollouts, and green hydrogen initiatives.

Additionally, the conference will delve into the nexus of Namibia’s energy sector and critical metals industry, discussing its role in broader economic and industrial development.

A notable feature of NIEC 2025 will be the Future Energy Leaders Initiative, aimed at driving youth participation in Namibia’s energy industry. This initiative will provide young professionals with opportunities for access, mentorship, and skills development, fostering the next generation of energy leaders.
