Emirates Celebrates Diwali with Traditional Delights and Entertainment Onboard and in Lounges
Emirates is bringing the spirit of Diwali to the skies and its lounges with an exclusive selection of treats, meals, and entertainment options for passengers traveling between Dubai and major cities in India from 28 October to 4 November.
Travelers aboard flights to and from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Cochin, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Mumbai will be greeted with an array of specially curated sweets, while passengers in Emirates Lounges will enjoy a taste of traditional Indian cuisine and Diwali-themed cocktails and mocktails.
In a festive culinary touch, Premium Economy and Economy Class customers will enjoy motichoor laddu—a popular Diwali delicacy made of sweet, cardamom and saffron-infused laddus. First and Business Class passengers will also be treated to Pista rolls, a cashew-based dessert garnished with pistachios and edible silver leaf.
Passengers can immerse themselves in Bollywood hits with access to up to 215 Indian movies on Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system. From recent blockbusters like Jawan and Tiger 3 to classics and regional favorites, the selection spans nine languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and more.
Emirates is also offering a full Diwali feast in its Dubai lounges. In the First Class Lounge, guests can indulge in firangi chaat, zaatar kebab, lamb rogan josh, and desserts like ghewar, angoori rabadi, and kesari rasmalai.
Signature Diwali cocktails like “Reborn” – a spicy gin mix with lime and jamun syrup – and mocktails like “Iced Masala” with masala chai add to the festive atmosphere.
The Emirates Business Class Lounge offers traditional favorites, including vegetable samosas, Amritsari chole, and dal kachori, paired with cocktails like the “Tamarind Cooler.”
Additionally, in the Cape Town and Johannesburg lounges, travelers can savor ladoo, jalebi, and burfi to honor the Diwali spirit with the Indian diaspora.
This celebration is part of Emirates’ commitment to honoring cultural festivals and enhancing the travel experience for its global passengers.
