Emirates and EFTA Celebrate Instructors on World Teachers’ Day, Opening New Pathways to the Sky

On this year’s World Teachers’ Day, Emirates and the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) jointly honored their flight instructors, who play an essential role in shaping the future of aviation.

This day, celebrated annually on October 5, underscores the immense contributions of educators to society. EFTA flight instructors now have the rare opportunity to transition to becoming First Officers with Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, after five years of service.

Captain Abdulla Al Hammadi, Divisional Vice President at EFTA, acknowledged the crucial role of flight instructors in shaping future aviators, stating: “They are the backbone of the academy, imparting not only technical skills but also leadership, decision-making, and adaptability. Our instructors are mentors who inspire cadets to aim high.”

Muhammad Bilal Pasha, the first EFTA flight instructor to join Emirates as a First Officer, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. “Teaching at EFTA was more than just a job—it was about helping young pilots chase their dreams. Now, I’m proud to carry those dreams forward as I take on my new role at Emirates,” he said.

EFTA and Emirates are actively seeking passionate flight instructors to join their growing teams. The academy is home to 43 highly qualified flight instructors from 23 nationalities, while Emirates boasts 520 instructors from 53 countries. With the airline’s expansion plans, both entities are looking to recruit experienced and qualified professionals to support their growth.

EFTA, established in 2017, is one of the world’s most advanced pilot training facilities. Located at Dubai World Central, the academy operates 29 modern training aircraft and spans 12.5 million square feet, with dedicated infrastructure for advanced pilot training.

Meanwhile, Emirates is preparing to expand its pilot training capabilities with a new $135 million academy, complete with state-of-the-art simulators for the A350 and 777X.

Flight instructors will have the unique opportunity to live and work in Dubai, a global aviation hub. To learn more about opportunities with Emirates and EFTA, visit www.emiratesgroupcareers.com
