Czech Republic to Invest €3 Million Annually in Zambia Until 2030
The Czech Republic has committed to investing €3 million per year in Zambia until 2030, targeting multiple sectors such as education, health, and nutrition. The initiative is part of the European nation’s broader Development Cooperation agenda, prioritizing Zambia as a key partner.
Czech Ambassador to Zambia, Pavel Prochazka, made the announcement during a celebration of Czech National Day in Lusaka. He highlighted the historical ties between the two countries, noting Zambia’s solidarity with the Czech people during the Soviet Union’s occupation.
Ambassador Prochazka praised former Zambian President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda for his vocal opposition to Soviet aggression, a gesture that has cemented Zambia as a trusted ally.
“Zambia’s consistent stand on international order has not gone unnoticed. This investment is a reflection of the strong, warm relations between our two nations,” said Prochazka.
Zambia’s Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Mutati, expressed gratitude for the Czech Republic’s continued support. “The Czech Republic has been an all-weather friend, consistently backing us in various sectors. This investment will help further our development goals,” said Mutati.
The multi-year funding is expected to bolster Zambia’s development in key areas and strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
