Busisa Moyo to Headline UK-Zimbabwe Business Expo in Birmingham
Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) Chairman, Mr. Busisa Moyo, is set to lead discussions at the highly anticipated UK-Zimbabwe Business Expo on October 5, 2024.
The event, organized by the Zimbabweans in Diaspora Organisation (ZIDO) in partnership with Vaka/Ekhaya, will take place at the Bethel Convention Centre in Birmingham.
Mr. Moyo will seize the opportunity to showcase a broad range of investment opportunities in Zimbabwe, focusing on projects across various sectors, including private and public-private partnerships.
“We will present curated opportunities, some of which are high-priority projects that offer great potential for both local and international investors,” Moyo shared. His goal is to foster interest in these initiatives, leading to future partnerships and investments.
The Expo will provide a platform for the Zimbabwean diaspora and international investors to gain insights into Zimbabwe’s evolving business climate. ZIDA has been instrumental in promoting Zimbabwe as an attractive destination for investments, highlighting sectors such as renewable energy, tourism, mining, agriculture, and manufacturing.
“Despite challenges, the investment landscape in Zimbabwe holds untapped potential, and we aim to bridge the information gap for investors abroad,” Moyo added.
ZIDO CEO, Blessed Kapesa, underscored the significance of the Expo in addressing the needs of Zimbabweans living abroad. “Our research shows that many Zimbabweans in the diaspora are eager to invest but often lack essential information. This event will offer them the guidance they need to start their investment journey,” Kapesa explained.
Zimbabwe’s “open for business” policy, coupled with large-scale infrastructure projects like dam and road construction, further emphasizes the country’s commitment to driving economic growth and attracting global investors.
The UK-Zimbabwe Business Expo aims to facilitate connections between Zimbabwean entrepreneurs and international investors, unlocking opportunities for growth and collaboration.
The event is expected to attract a diverse audience of business leaders, investors, and members of the diaspora community.
