President Hichilema Invited to Nepal for Bilateral Boost
His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema has been extended an invitation for a working visit to Nepal by the Honourable President Mr. Ramchandra Paudel.
The invitation, extended during a meeting at the Rastrapati Bhawan in Kathmandu, aims to enhance bilateral relations between the two nations.
President Paudel emphasized the importance of high-profile visits to solidify ties, citing shared interests in trade, peacekeeping, and climate action.
“High-level visits would bring us closer,” President Paudel stated, recognizing Zambia’s strength in copper mining and the potential for collaboration.
He also noted the commonalities between Zambia and Nepal in international peacekeeping and climate change mitigation.
During the meeting, Zambia’s High Commissioner to India, Mr. Percy Chanda, reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to exploring new partnerships under the New Dawn Government.
He emphasized Zambia’s openness to investment in agriculture, energy, and value addition sectors.
Mr. Chanda also highlighted tourism as a key area for cooperation, noting Zambia’s potential to learn from Nepal’s thriving industry.
“We believe we can learn a lot from you by taking advantage of our tourism products such as the Victoria Falls,” he said.
