Emirates Unveils Dedicated A380 Livery to Highlight Emirates Airline Foundation’s Humanitarian Efforts
Emirates has unveiled a new A380 livery to spotlight the impactful work of the Emirates Airline Foundation, dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world. The aircraft, adorned with a vibrant design inspired by the Foundation’s logo, will help raise awareness for its humanitarian projects and bring attention to its significant contributions over the past 20 years.
The bespoke livery features playful elements and pastel stars in light green, warm orange, baby blue, and soft pink, reflecting the Foundation’s focus on children’s needs. The bold message, “Help to support children in need,” is prominently displayed on the fuselage, while the engine cowls are painted in warm orange to symbolize hope for disadvantaged children.
The aircraft’s first destination with this special livery is Johannesburg, South Africa, where the Foundation supports two crucial projects.
Operating under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman & Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, the Emirates Airline Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on providing humanitarian aid and essential services to children globally.
Over the last two decades, the Foundation has supported more than 50 projects across 12 countries, addressing critical needs in education, food, clean water, healthcare, and housing.
The Foundation partners with numerous NGOs and community-based organizations to deliver sustainable impact. Key projects include Emirates-CHES Home in Kenya, which serves 100 abandoned HIV-positive children with medical support; the IMMPACT Girls Education Project in India, which provides education to 5,000 girls and training for nearly 1,500 teachers; and Prithipura Communities in Sri Lanka, supporting 240 individuals with disabilities through specialized care and vocational training. Additionally, the Virlanie Foundation in the Philippines helps abandoned, abused, and neglected children.
In South Africa and Zimbabwe, the Foundation’s focus on holistic education and medical care includes Fikelela Children’s Centre, which supports children afflicted with HIV/AIDS and funds new facilities for 40 young children; Singakwenza, which enhances early childhood education for low-income communities by training 71 practitioners; and St Marcellin’s Children’s Village in Zimbabwe, providing care for over 70 orphaned and homeless children with physical disabilities and HIV.
In Brazil, the Foundation supports the Saint Rita de Cassia Orphanage in Rio de Janeiro, which provides shelter and education for 96 orphaned girls, and Externato Sao Francisco de Assis, a non-profit that cares for underprivileged children and operates a school for over 70 pre-school students.
In Dubai, the Foundation supports the SAFE Centre for Autism, offering a safe and inclusive environment for children with complex learning difficulties.
In the past financial year alone, the Emirates Airline Foundation has facilitated missions for 20 NGOs, issuing over 500 flight tickets to volunteers involved in medical, engineering, and educational missions worldwide.
Notable missions include Virginia Children’s Connection, which conducted surgeries for cleft lips and burns in India; World Wide Smiles (FWWS), which provided dental healthcare in Uganda; Global Smile Foundation, which performed surgeries for cleft palates in Lebanon; Operation of Hope Worldwide, which conducted transformative surgeries for burn injuries in Zimbabwe; and Australian Doctors for Africa, which provided training in orthopaedics and wound management in Ethiopia.
