Emirates Doubles Partnership Connectivity, Unlocking Access to Nearly 1,700 Cities Globally
Emirates Airline has achieved a significant milestone in expanding its global network, doubling the number of cities connected beyond its own network in the past year. The airline now offers travelers the opportunity to reach nearly 1,700 additional cities through a comprehensive network of partnerships.
In the past year, Emirates has introduced 16 new partnerships, including codeshares with Avianca and Batik Air Malaysia and interline agreements with KAM Air, Sri Lankan Airlines, Condor, Flynas, Viva Aerobus, Sun Express, Maldivian, Siberia Airlines, and Kenya Airways.
These partnerships are designed to enhance the travel experience by providing seamless connections, flexible schedules, single ticket itineraries, and improved baggage transfers.
Currently, Emirates boasts an extensive network of 31 codeshare, 118 interline, and 13 rail and helicopter service partners. With a total of 162 partners spanning over 100 countries, the airline’s expanded network offers travelers enhanced connectivity and a host of benefits, including frequent flyer perks, lounge access, and smooth travel experiences at every touchpoint.
Emirates’ expanded partnerships facilitate connections to popular destinations worldwide. For instance, travelers can now access over 140 destinations through Emirates’ network and benefit from frictionless connectivity at Dubai International Airport (DXB). The airline’s robust network provides easy access to destinations across the globe, complemented by industry-leading services both on the ground and in the air.
Newly launched partnerships include codeshare agreements with Avianca and Batik Air Malaysia and interline arrangements with various airlines and rail services. Emirates has also formed innovative collaborations, such as its partnership with BLADE, an urban air-mobility company. This unique interline partnership allows Emirates customers to enjoy helicopter flights between Nice and Monaco on a single ticket.
Emirates customers traveling to Europe can now benefit from codeshare agreements with leading rail services including Trenitalia, Spanish Rail Renfe, Austrian Rail OBB, and Swedish Rail SJ. These partnerships enable fast, efficient connections from plane to train, enhancing travel flexibility and convenience.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, highlighted the airline’s commitment to expanding its global presence. “In the last year, we’ve doubled down on our strategy of deepening our global footprint by forming new partnerships with like-minded airlines, rail operators, and air mobility companies. Our goal is to provide our customers with an unparalleled choice of destinations and seamless travel options. Our growth ambitions align with Dubai’s D33 strategy, aiming to make our home and hub the most connected city in the world.”
Emirates’ strategic partnerships also include collaborations with major airlines such as United, Air Canada, and Qantas. These partnerships enhance connectivity to over 350 destinations across North, Central, and South America, Australia, and New Zealand. Emirates’ network now spans across the globe, with significant expansions in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa.
In Africa, Emirates’ extensive network now reaches over 210 regional points through five codeshare and 18 interline partners. This expansion provides superior connectivity and valuable travel options to smaller regional destinations across the continent.
Emirates’ partnership with Proflight Zambia, for example, offers access to 13 points in Southern Africa, including unique regional destinations like the Lower Zambezi National Park.
For leisure travelers heading to the Maldives, Emirates’ interline partnership with Maldivian enables access to 16 islands beyond Male. The airline’s cornerstone partnership with flydubai is a prime example of successful joint cooperation, providing access to over 230 destinations across 100 countries with more than 275 codeshare flights available daily.
Since the partnership’s launch in 2017, over 17.5 million passengers have connected through Emirates and flydubai’s joint networks.
Emirates Skywards, the airline’s loyalty program, and Emirates SkyCargo work closely with codeshare and interline partners to support and complement network and loyalty program frameworks. This ensures that both passengers and cargo customers benefit fully from the airline’s extensive partnerships.
Additionally, Emirates Airport Services play a crucial role in ensuring seamless connections for passengers, providing dedicated support and access to the airline’s lounges in Dubai and other locations.
