Malawi Set to Lead in Clean Energy with New Mineral Laboratory
The Ministry of Mining reports that Malawi is on the cusp of becoming a key player in the global clean energy transition, thanks to its abundant mineral resources.
The country’s diverse range of minerals is set to be harnessed for clean energy production, potentially positioning Malawi as a leader in renewable energy.
Andrew Chisamba, Director of Administration at the Ministry of Mining, revealed that the inauguration of a new state-of-the-art mineral laboratory is imminent.
The laboratory, currently undergoing final touches, is expected to be operational next month. It will play a crucial role in reducing government costs associated with mineral analysis and support the implementation of the Agriculture, Tourism, and Mining (ATM) Strategy.
Chisamba highlighted the global demand for minerals essential for the clean energy transition and emphasized that the new laboratory will enable domestic analysis of mineral samples, eliminating the need for outsourcing.
