Czech Republic Offers Scholarships to Zambians for Cyber Security and AI Studies
The Czech Republic has generously offered 25 scholarships to Zambian professionals to study Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security.
This initiative is part of the European country’s effort to help Zambia enhance its technical skills as it moves towards embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Czech Ambassador to Zambia, Pavel Prochazka, made the announcement during a courtesy call on Technology and Science Minister, Hon. Felix Mutati.
Ambassador Prochazka emphasized the Czech Republic’s desire to partner with Zambia’s Ministry of Technology and Science to bolster the country’s technical expertise.
“We want Zambian professionals to perfect their skills as the country prepares to embrace Artificial Intelligence,” said Ambassador Prochazka. He also highlighted that the scholarships are available for both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
Hon. Felix Mutati expressed gratitude to the Czech Republic for its annual scholarships. He noted that Zambia is prioritizing AI to address significant challenges such as climate change, drought, and the expansion of mining production.
Additionally, Minister Mutati mentioned the government’s interest in the Czech Republic’s support for vocational training to further develop Zambia’s workforce.
