President Ruto Vows Accountability for Killings and Celebrates Community Initiatives in Elgeyo Marakwet
President William Samoei Ruto has declared that there is no justification for any Kenyan to lose their life due to mysterious killings in Nairobi or any other part of the country.
He emphasized that Kenya is a democratic nation guided by the rule of law and assured that those responsible for such crimes will be held accountable.
President Ruto made these remarks while attending the annual Kaptagat Forest tree planting celebrations at Our Lady of Glory Kaptagat Girls High School in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The event focused on environmental conservation and community development.
During the celebrations, President Ruto launched the Kelvin Kiptum Foundation, established to honor the legacy of the late marathon legend, Kelvin Kiptum.
The foundation aims to promote sports and provide opportunities for young athletes in the region.
The President was accompanied by Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia W Mudavadi, and Governors Wisely Rotich (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Chelilim Bii (Uasin Gishu). Several Principal Secretaries, Members of Parliament (MPs), and Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) also attended the event.
