Zambia Launches First Solar-Powered FNB Branch

Zambia has launched its first fully solar-powered bank branch in Kalumbila. The Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Hon. Mike Mposha, announced the refurbishment of the FNB Zambia branch, emphasizing the importance of solar energy for the country’s future.

Hon. Mposha praised the project, saying, “Solar power reduces our carbon footprint and supports sustainable development.” 

He highlighted the economic benefits, such as increased energy security and job creation in the renewable energy sector.

FNB Zambia’s CEO, Ms. Kapumpe Chola, expressed the bank’s commitment to fighting climate change. She said, 

“This transition to solar energy shows our dedication to reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable solutions.”

The Kalumbila branch is the first of many planned solar-powered branches, aiming to ensure continuous banking services even during power outages. 

This initiative positions Zambia as a leader in green technology in the region.
