KCM CEO Encourages Positive Attitude at Lechwe School Graduation

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Acting Chief Executive Officer, Enock Mponda, delivered an inspiring speech to students at Lechwe School in Kitwe, urging them to embrace a positive attitude as they navigate through life’s challenges.

Speaking at the Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony, Mr. Mponda emphasized that a positive attitude brings about constructive changes and significantly shapes one’s future.

Mr. Mponda highlighted the transformative power of a positive mindset, explaining that it changes a person’s view of the world and enhances their problem-solving abilities.

“A positive attitude allows you to see solutions where others see problems,” he said.

Using powerful analogies such as ‘Acres of Diamonds’ and ‘David and Goliath,’ Mr. Mponda encouraged the graduates not to limit themselves when presented with opportunities.

“Nobody knows what is inside them. It’s what is inside that counts, and what’s inside of us that makes us rise to occasions is our attitude,” he remarked.

He further advised the graduates to seize every opportunity, noting that each one is unique. “Opportunity only knocks once. The next one may be better or worse, but never the same one. Opportunity is always under our feet. We don’t have to go anywhere; all we need to do is recognize the available opportunities and take them.”
