Chambishi Copper Smelter Donates Infrastructure Worth K3 Million to Kalulushi District 

The Chambishi Copper Smelter (CCS) has officially handed over classroom blocks, a mothers’ shelter, and an ablution block worth over K3,000,000 to the government in Kalulushi District, Copperbelt Province. 

This generous donation is aimed at enhancing educational and healthcare infrastructure in the area.

During the handover ceremony in Chambishi, CCS Chief Executive Officer Wu Wen Jun reiterated the company’s commitment to partnering with the government to improve school infrastructure and access to education for children. 

“Through our corporate social responsibility program, we have constructed classroom blocks at both Chambishi and Chibote Primary Schools, a mothers’ shelter at Kalulushi General Hospital, and an ablution block at Chati South Boarding School,” said Mr. Jun.

Kalulushi District Commissioner Kelly Jibinga expressed profound gratitude to CCS, noting that the donation will significantly benefit the community and future generations. 

“This contribution not only helps our current community but also lays a foundation for the prosperity of future generations,” said Mr. Jibinga. 

He also called on other companies in the region to follow CCS’s example in contributing to community development.

District Education Board Secretary Boola Malambo also praised the mining firm for its dedication to improving educational facilities. 

“We are grateful to CCS for their unwavering support in uplifting the standards of education for our learners,” said Ms. Malambo.
