In a statement issued by Chila Namaiko, Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, House of Chiefs Chairperson, His Royal Highness Chief Nkambo, highlighted the global recognition of President Hichilema’s exemplary leadership as an inspiration for the youth of Zambia.

He urged young people to leverage the free education policy in Zambia to work diligently and unlock their potential.

Chief Nkambo emphasised the importance of emulating the President’s attributes of hard work and self-sacrifice for national development.

He reminded the over 1.6 million students benefiting from the free education policy to use this opportunity wisely, recognising that it is a result of deliberate efforts by President Hichilema to ensure accessible education for all.

“As House of Chiefs, we challenge young people to emulate the ethic of hard work exemplified by our President,” Chief Nkambo stated. “Free education is one of many practical policies that young people can use to realise their potential.”

The Chairperson also expressed gratitude for the New Dawn Government’s recent recruitment of over 30,000 teachers, particularly benefiting rural areas by reducing the high teacher-to-pupil ratio.

He noted the positive impact of new teachers in these regions, contributing to the enhancement of educational standards.

Moreover, Chief Nkambo praised the government’s efforts in improving healthcare delivery in rural communities through the construction of health posts and maternity annexes under the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

He acknowledged the President’s dedication and foresight in prioritising the well-being of all Zambians.

The House of Chiefs reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the government in implementing various developmental programmes, leveraging its role as an advisory body on traditional, customary, and other matters referred by the President.
