Zambia and India Celebrate 60 Years of Diplomatic Relations with Joint Logo Launch
Ms. Etambuyu Anamela Gundersen, Permanent Secretary of International Relations and Cooperation, and His Excellency Mr. Ashok Kumar, High Commissioner of India to Zambia, jointly launched a commemorative logo celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The event took place in Lusaka and was organised by the Indian Mission.
In her remarks, Ms. Gundersen highlighted the close and warm relations between Zambia and India, founded on shared aspirations of liberty, democracy, and good governance.
She expressed gratitude for India’s support and technical assistance in various sectors and encouraged Indian investors to explore opportunities in Zambia, particularly in agriculture, mining, and manufacturing.
High Commissioner Ashok Kumar acknowledged the strong and flourishing bilateral relations between Zambia and India.
He mentioned that the Indian community, socio-cultural organisations, and friends of India, with the support of the Zambian government, will organise several events throughout the year to celebrate this milestone.
