Zambia Participates in Inaugural Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul
Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, SC, M.P, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is representing President Hakainde Hichilema at the inaugural Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul, South Korea.
The summit, taking place from 4th to 5th June 2024, is convened under the theme: “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability and Solidarity.”
The Korea-Africa Summit is poised to be a landmark event, aiming to bolster relationships between African nations and South Korea. It seeks to foster collaboration across various sectors, including trade, investment, technology, and sustainable development.
Attendees include Heads of State, government officials, and business leaders, all of whom will engage in discussions and explore opportunities for mutual growth and cooperation.
Hon. Haimbe will deliver a keynote address on behalf of President Hichilema, reaffirming Zambia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with South Korea and other African nations.
The Minister’s participation includes the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, 2nd June 2024, and several high-level discussions focused on economic development, infrastructure, education, and climate resilience.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Hon. Haimbe plans to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from various nations and cooperating partners.
These meetings aim to foster partnerships that align with Zambia’s strategic interests, particularly in increasing investment in critical sectors, facilitating technology transfer, and collaborating on global challenges such as climate change.
