Emirates Airlines Elevates Zimbabwean Content on Inflight Entertainment

Emirates Airlines has once again solidified its position as a leader in the airline industry, having recently been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Inflight Entertainment Award’ in the 2024 airline ratings.

With an impressive array of 6,500 channels featuring high-quality and diverse content, Emirates boasts the world’s largest entertainment library in the sky, showcasing offerings from around the globe, including Zimbabwe.

One notable Zimbabwean production highlighted in Emirates’ inflight entertainment is “Shaina,” a compelling drama directed by Beautie Masvaure. The film tells the story of Shine, a resilient teenager navigating life’s trials and tribulations, ultimately discovering her inner strength and the power of forgiveness and love.

This emotionally resonant narrative is just one example of the rich and diverse content available to passengers on Emirates flights.

In addition to Zimbabwean content, passengers can enjoy a variety of top-notch African productions from countries such as Nigeria, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa, further enriching their inflight experience on Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system.

For travelers flying from Harare to Dubai via Lusaka, Emirates offers the convenience of curating their own entertainment experience using the Emirates App. By pre-selecting movies or TV shows before their flight, passengers can seamlessly enjoy their chosen content upon boarding, maximizing their inflight enjoyment.

Emirates’ commitment to enhancing the inflight entertainment experience dates back nearly three decades when the airline introduced seat-back videos for economy-class passengers.

In addition to offering a vast array of entertainment options, Emirates is dedicated to setting industry standards for accessibility. The airline was the first to provide Audio Descriptive soundtracks and Closed Captions on movies, catering to passengers with visual impairments.

Emirates passengers have access to an extensive entertainment library, including over 2,000 Hollywood and internationally acclaimed movies, hundreds of complete TV series and box sets, documentary movies, Emirati and Arabic content, Bollywood and South Asian offerings, and global cinema in over 50 languages. Accessibility features such as ‘Closed Captions’ and ‘Audio Description’ ensure that all passengers can enjoy the entertainment selection.

Furthermore, Emirates provides premium Bowers & Wilkins E1 headphones in First Class, specially designed headphones for kids’ comfort, and complimentary Wi-Fi onboard for Emirates Skywards members.

With live TV channels, happiness and self-development content, podcasts, audiobooks, and an inflight airshow capability, Emirates offers a comprehensive and immersive entertainment experience for passengers of all ages and interests.
