ZRA Leads the Way in Disability Inclusion
The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is setting a strong example for social inclusion in the workplace.
The Authority understands the importance of providing a supportive environment for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and is actively working to create equal opportunities for them.
ZRA currently employs six differently-abled individuals and is collaborating with the Zambia Agency of Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) to further enhance their commitment to diversity and inclusion.
This collaboration includes incorporating sign language interpreters in taxpayer education programs and translating informational materials into Braille.
ZAPD Board Chairperson, Moses Luneta, commended ZRA’s efforts, highlighting their role as a key stakeholder in promoting equal employment opportunities.
He emphasized the importance of including PWDs in the workforce, not only for their unique skillsets and motivation but also to lead by example for other institutions, especially in the private sector.
ZRA’s commitment to social inclusion aligns with their mission of ensuring everyone can participate equally in the country’s social and economic activities. Their efforts are paving the way for a more inclusive future for Zambians with disabilities.
