Three Decomposed Bodies Discovered in Kasisi

The Chelston Police Station received a distressing report on February 18, 2024, when Isaiah Lweela, a resident of Chipokolo Village near Kasisi Mine, reported the discovery of three decomposed bodies in different locations, yet in close proximity to each other.

According to Mr. Lweela, the bodies, two females and one male, were found in a decomposed state on February 18, 2024, around 1500 hours, at a farm in Chipokolo village, where he had gone to inspect his maize field.

The discovery was made after he detected a foul odor and observed numerous flies in the vicinity.

After notifying fellow villagers, a collective effort was made to investigate the scene, leading to the subsequent discovery of two additional bodies. The matter was promptly reported to the Chelston Police Station.

Upon examination by police scenes of crime officers, it was determined that the bodies were those of two females aged between 22 and 25 and a male aged between 30 and 35.

The male body exhibited a deep head wound and was found clothed in blue jeans, with white sneakers discovered nearby.

Approximately 500 meters away, another female body was found with a severe neck injury, while a third female body, located 80 meters from the second, displayed a significant head wound.

Authorities recovered various clothing items and accessories from the scene, including a suspected murder weapon—a nearby axe. Postmortem examinations were conducted promptly, and burial arrangements for the unidentified victims were scheduled for the same day.

As investigations continue, none of the victims have been identified, and the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in their inquiries.

The discovery of these bodies has sent shockwaves through the Kasisi community, prompting concerns about safety and security. The police reassured the public that they are committed to thoroughly investigating the matter and bringing those responsible to justice.

Rae Hamoonga, Police Public Relations Officer, reiterated the importance of community cooperation in resolving such cases and encouraged anyone with pertinent information to reach out to law enforcement authorities.
