Mwape Names 30-Member Provisional Squad for Ghana Clash

Zambia Women’s National Team coach Bruce Mwape has named his provisional squad before facing Ghana in the penultimate round of the 2024 Paris Olympics Women’s Football Tournament qualifiers.

Mwape has retained most of the players who completed the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualification task against Angola and added the FAZ Women’s Super League duo of defender Tabo Miselo and striker Florence Banda who have stood out for the parliamentarians.

Green Buffaloes striker Kabange Mupopo also returns to the Copper Queens squad for the first time in eight years, and so does Elite Ladies midfielder Comfort Selemani who missed the WAFCON qualifier matches against Angola in December.

Red Arrows captain Susan Banda misses out of the Ghana matches due to injury sustained in the FAZ Women’s Super League match against Police Dove Queens FC on 27 January, 2024.

The first leg match against the Black Queens of Ghana will be played at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi on Friday 23 February and will be followed by the reverse fixture at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola five days later.
