EAU Celebrates 33rd Graduation Ceremony

Emirates Aviation University (EAU), the education arm of the Emirates Group marked a significant milestone as 302 accomplished students were conferred with degrees during the 33rd graduation ceremony. 

Held at the EAU campus, the event was graced by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and Chancellor of EAU.

The diverse cohort of graduates, representing over 50 nationalities, showcased their proficiency in various disciplines such as aviation management, aeronautical engineering, aviation safety/security, logistics and supply chain management, mechanical and aircraft maintenance engineering, and software engineering.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum underscored the importance of nurturing the next generation of aviation leaders. 

He stated, “Fostering excellence, technical skills, and leadership qualities in our students are the cornerstones of our approach and these are important for the industry’s progress and development. Congratulations to our graduates! I look forward to them taking their rightful place in the local and global economy and to their many remarkable successes.”

Professor Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University, highlighted the institution’s commitment to delivering world-class and futuristic programs. He emphasized the need to inspire and engage students for success in the rapidly evolving aviation industry.

The graduates, comprising 77 postgraduates and 225 bachelor students, are entering a promising job market. The aviation industry is projected to record over US$25.7 billion in net profit in 2024, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). 

Global passenger traffic recovery is expected to reach 9.4 billion passengers in 2024, surpassing the pre-pandemic levels of 2019.

This year, EAU recognized 26 exemplary students, reflecting the institution’s dedication to producing future aviation leaders. The cohort includes 72 Emirates-sponsored students, demonstrating a strong collaboration between the university and the airline.

The focus on blending industry and academia was evident through the internship program, where over 100 students had the opportunity to intern with the Emirates Group for over one semester. 

This initiative provided students with practical experience, aligning academic knowledge with real-world corporate work.

Emirates Aviation University, established in 1991, has evolved into the leading educational institution for aviation studies in the region. 

The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the aviation sector.
